Sakura Kaori Sencha is our Chado name for Sugimoto's single-cultivar organic sencha made from Shizu-7132. The tea comes from Kawane in Shizuoka and stands apart for a naturally floral profile that suggests sakura without relying on added fragrance or blending. Its structure is a little brisker and more lifted than the deeper, fuller senchas elsewhere in the shortlist, which is part of its appeal. We would treat it as a small-batch release rather than an evergreen tea.

This tea is on the shortlist because it gives us something precise to talk about: a named grower, a named cultivar, organic farming, and a mountain origin with its own character. It is exactly the sort of tea we would rather release carefully than force into a permanent slot before supply is clear. For now it stays sold out while sourcing conversations continue.
