Dewdrop Gyokuro is our Chado name for Sugimoto Reserve Gyokuro Shizuku, a shaded tea from Yame in Fukuoka. The tea is made from Oku Midori, Tsuyu Hikari, and Sae Midori cultivars and shaded for at least sixteen days before harvest, producing the thick texture and deep umami gyokuro is known for. What we like most is its restraint: it feels dense, sweet, and persistent rather than loud. It is the premium point of the shortlist, included because an opening collection should have one tea that clearly sits above the everyday tier.

Artisan Note

The Maker's Story

This tea stays on the site as a sold-out preview because it gives the clearest premium read on the shortlist: region, shading period, and cultivar detail are all visible and explainable. Those are the kinds of specifics we want to stand behind when we finally open the shop. Until supply is confirmed, we would rather present it carefully than pretend it is already secured.
